Präsenz-Workshop: Mindful of your headspace: Discover the benefits of mindfulness meditation

If you are looking for an effective method to deal with stress, whether in everyday life, in your studies, at work or in your relationships, and if you are also interested in increasing your self-awareness, this workshop is the right first step!

The techniques that you are introduced to in this workshop will support you in cultivating mindfulness - and thus help you create more spaciousness in your mind and around any body sensations.

Mindfulness is the ability to consciously direct and shift our focus and therefore not get stuck so easily or for so long, to always begin again and to meet with curiosity and interest what is alive in and around us in every new moment.

Mindfulness allows us to be more at peace with things that cannot be changed.

And mindfulness practice gives us the (head-) space we need to take alternative perspectives, perspectives that are more helpful and solution-focused.

Like the surfer who can only remain steady when he lifts his gaze from the wobbly board to the horizon and the direction in which he wants to ride.

Course content

- Exercises and methods to develop your mindfulness skills

- Mindful awareness of the body

- Sitting meditation

- Exercises to apply mindfulness in everyday life

- Mindful communication

This is a cooperation with the Psychological Counselling Center of the Viadrina.

Please note that this workshop has one date!

 

Target group: The workshop is aimed at international students and PhD students of the Viadrina as well as students and PhD students with a migration and/or refugee background. If required and depending on available places, other Viadrina students and PhD students are welcome to participate in the workshop. Please note, however, that final admission will only be granted shortly before the start of the workshop.

(Please note that the workshop is funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) as part of the DAAD Integra project. In this context, part of the places are reserved for international female students from Turkey, Syria, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Somalia, Eritrea and Nigeria).

ECTS: Certificate of participation  -  depending on the study and examination regulations of your degree programme, regular attendance and participation in an evaluation.

Trainer:

Marianne Tatschner, certified clinical psychologist and systemic counsellor, responsible for psychological counselling at Viadrina’s Psychological Counselling Centre, certified MBSR teacher, member of the MBSR-MBCT Association Germany, MSC trained teacher

Yves Steininger, research associate at the Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin -Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, certified MBSR teacher, member of the MBSR-MBCT Association Germany (experienced teacher, level 2), MSC teacher, graduate of the master programs "Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy" and "Sports Psychology " at the MSH Medical School Hamburg.

 

Please note that all registrations at Training Manager will be admitted first. The final admission will be made by the course organisation shortly before the course starts. Therefore, please feel free to register for the workshop even if it is indicated that all places are already taken.
